Ingredients
- For the Coco flavor
- ¼ cup vanilla protein powder (I used Designer Whey)
- ½ cup oat flour (oats, blended into a flour)
- 2 Tablespoons almond cocoa spread
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- ¼ cup milk
- For the Peanut Butter Flavor
- ¼ cup vanilla protein powder
- ½ cup oat flour
- ½ tablespoon maple syrup
- 1½ Tablespoons peanut butter
- 3 tablespoons milk
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, mix together all ingredients for the cocoa flavor. It should be the consistency of cookie dough. If it's too dry, add a bit more milk.
- Then, roll the dough into about ½ tablespoon balls. Set aside.
- Rinse that bowl, then mix together all ingredients for the peanut butter flavor. Again, if it's too dry, add little more milk.
- Roll the dough into about ½ tablespoon balls.
- Next, take 1 cocoa ball and 1 peanut butter ball combine them by compressing them together and rolling into one larger ball. Repeat! Refrigerate until ready to eat.
You can say that I just might be on a protein or energy bite kick right now. I have been trying out different flavors which led me to make a cocoa and peanut butter combo.
I learned that adding an extra boost of carbs and protein right before a workout gives you that extra bit of energy it takes to make it through a workout.
I caution you to eat these only before a workout. They are addicting. Which is why I only make them in small batches. They are no bake and come together rather quickly. Coincidentally, this batch made a baker’s dozen.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
